The Anambra State Chapter of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) has expressed readiness to participate fully in the August 29th, 2026 local government election in the state, announced by the State Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC).
Engr Levi Obiaduo, the State secretary of the party, disclosed this while briefing Journalists at the party’s regional headquarters in Awka on Saturday, on the just concluded All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA’s Chairmanship/Councilorship primary in the state.
He described the primary as a violent -free electoral process, the state will ever witnessed since the inception of democracy in Nigeria in 1999.

He said APGA is not taking anything for granted as it had put everything humanly and politically possible in place to ensure a successful repeat of what transpired in the November 8, 2025 gubernatorial election in the state.
According to Obiaduo, APGA under the able leadership of our National leader who is also the governor of Anambra State, governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, is fully prepared to participate in the local government election. We have put all machineries in place to ensure we wins all the 21 local government chairmanship and 326 councillorship positions during the voting exercise.
“The free and transparent APGA primary, Nigerians witnessed is an evidence that governor Soludo led-APGA government in Anambra State has worked beyond human imagination and I strongly believe that his second term will be more, more better than his first term in office.
“My appeal to all the contestants irrespective of political affiliations is to uphold democratic values and conduct themselves with decorum, maturity, and respect for the rule of law.
“ANSIEC should leave no stone unturned to ensure a successful, free, fair and credible election that is devoid of violence, intimidation, or harassment.
“We also count on you, the media for an unbiased and balance reportage before, during and after the exercise.”
Obiaduo equally commended the security agencies for ensuring a conducive environment during the party’s primaries.
