Ahead of the November 8, 2025 gubernatorial election in Anambra State, President General of Umueri General Assembly in Anambra East Local Government Area of the State, Amb John Metchie, has publicly endorsed Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo of the All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA for a second term.
Metchie who is also a notable philanthropist made his position know during the community’s rally in support of the governor’s reelection bid, held at Ama-Umueri square on Thursday.
According to the President General, he and the entire people of Umueri Kingdom are supporting the reelection of governor Soludo for providing the community a befitting general hospital and for promising to construct a link-road that would connect the town and other neighboring communities in Anambra East Council Area to Chinua Achebe International airport.
“We are also backing the governor for the love he has for us.
“This is the third or fourth time he would be visiting our community His administration has restore togetherness, peace, unity and total development in Umueri community.
“Today, I am very happy and grateful because the governor has finally agreed to award the long awaiting Ivite -Umueri road to Chinua Achebe International airport, which I can gladly said it’s one of the fantastic thing, the governor can ever give to the good people of Umueri Kingdom and the entire Omabala region of the State.
“This rally is to informed the governor that, the people of Umueri community are 100 percent behind his reelection bid. Soludo has no competition here, because, no one single vote would be left out. Umueri is 100 percent for governor Soludo and all our votes would be given to him in appreciation during the voting process.
Metchie described Soludo as divinely anointed to lead and rebuild Anambra State.
Also speaking, the Chairman of Anambra East Local Government Area, Hon Ifeanyichukwu Chinweze, commended Soludo’s achievements over the past three years, asserting that his leadership is a manifestation of divine destiny.
He appeal to the people to rally behind Soludo for the ongoing development of the state and to massively vote for him to enable achieve his vision of making Anambra a livable and prosperous state in Nigeria.
Expressing gratitude for the overwhelming support, Governor Soludo promised to construct the long awaiting Ivite -Umueri road that would link Umueri and the entire communities in Anambra East Local Government Area to Chinua Achebe International airport.
The event also have in attendence, traditional rulers from the council, top government officials and APGA supporters.
