Leadership of Hausa community under the umbrella of Northern Community Leaders (NCL), in Anambra State, has denied working against governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s reelection bid ahead of the November 8, 2025 governorship election in the state.
They argue that a publication currently making the round that the ‘The Hausa community in Anambra State has rejects Soludo for Action Alliance AA guber candidate, Ozo Jeff Nweke”, was a plot to scattered the already built relationship, the community has solidified with the present administration.
The leadership accused those behind the publication as people working against the unity, peace, togetherness and progress of non-indigenes in Anambra state.

The denial is contained in a statement jointly signed by Sarkin Fulani Awka, Alahaji Gidado Siddiki, Sarkin Hausawa Awka, Alhaji Garba Haruna, the Chairman Alh Iliyasu yushau Sarki Hausawa Onitsha, and Salisu Mohammed Nnewi respectively and made available to Journalists in Awka on Sunday.
The statement read in part; Our attention has been drawn to an online report entitled “Hausa Community Rejects Soludo.”
“We humbly wish to informed the people of Anambra and the public at large that, “the individual interviewed in that article falsely presented himself as a leader of the Hausa community in Awka. The recognized leader of the Hausa community in Awka is Garba Haruna, who was neither consulted nor made aware of the alleged statement.
The person in question holds no official position within any Hausa community organization in Anambra State.
“We affirm that every citizen is free to join and support any political party of their choice. However, no individual may unilaterally endorse a candidate on behalf of the entire Hausa community.
“The Northern community in Anambra State has always maintained a respectful distance from sycophancy. We remain steadfastly committed to and supportive of the administration of Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo.
“On numerous occasions when we have reported security concerns or challenges affecting our people, government officials and security agencies have responded swiftly and effectively.
“In our recent discussions about the future of the cattle market, the state government has pledged to explore and develop alternative arrangements to safeguard the livelihoods of our herders.
“Most of us were born and raised in Anambra State; all our homes, businesses, and livelihoods are here. We have no other place to depend upon apart from Anambra. Any thoughtful person residing here stands firmly behind Governor Soludo’s administration why stranger among us would oppose the wish of the indigenes?
“The Leadership of Hausa community under the umbrella of Northern Community Leaders (NCL), in the state are not working against reelection bid of governor Soludo in the upcoming November 8, 2025 governorship election in the state.
“We look forward to continuing our constructive partnership with the Soludo administration for the security, prosperity, and harmony of all communities in Anambra State,” the statement concluded.
