Anambra community vows to re-elect APGA lawmaker for providing free dental services to 3,100 constituents

The people of Isiagu community in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State, have pledged to re-elect Hon. Chukwuma Pius OKoye, an All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), lawmaker representing Awka South Constituency 2 in Anambra State House of Assembly in the 2023 general election, as a result of the just concluded free dental care services provided to the community.

The Paradise News gathered that Okoye, had on 2nd August, 2022, alongside his supporters, flagged off a 6-day free dental care services to seven communities that formed the constituency, at St. Matthew Catholic Church Amawbia, Awka South local government area of the state, in a bid to appreciate the people for the mandate given to him in 2019 general elections.

The communities are; Amawbia, Nise, Nibo, Umuawulu, Mbaukwu, Ezinator and Isiagu.

Speaking in separate interviews with journalists at the closing ceremony of the programme, held at Afor Market Square, Isiagu, over the weekend, the elated residents made up of community stakeholders conveyed their gratitude to Hon. Okoye, for providing a relief to those with teeth challenges and other numerous constituency projects he has done so far in the community, while vowing to re-elect him for another term at the State Assembly.

According to them past lawmakers had ignored their pleas for quality healthcare services, education and youth empowerment programmes.

The residents asserted that Okoye’s return to the State Assembly in 2023 will guarantee more key infrastructural development initiatives to not only Isiagu community but to the entire Awka South 2 State Constituency.

The lawmaker, who is seeking a re-election to the State Assembly, under the platform of (APGA), appreciated the support and solidarity of the community indigenes, which he identified as his motivation.

Commenting on the kind gesture, Okoye said a total of three thousand one hundred constituents across political divides benefited from the programme.

He promised to do more, if given another opportunity to represent them.

President General of the community, Chief Louis Okeke, thanked Okoye, for the humanitarian service, while rallying community residents to ensure his reelection.

The PG added that the lawmaker had performed well to deserve the full support of the community in the 2023 electoral contest.

Chief Okeke further noted that the lawmaker has been doing a lot of development projects in the community even before he ventured into politics.

“He is currently refurbishing all the healthcare centres in Isiagu Community.

“I assure him that the community, also under my watch would vote for him for another term in office”, he stated.

In his remark, the traditional ruler of the community, Igwe Austin Nwankwo, also assured that the constituents will ensure they return Hon. Okoye to the State Assembly to consolidate on the good works he has commenced.

According to the monarch, who was represented by his Palace Public Relations Officer (PRO), Chief Sunday Ozumba, “no politician in the area has done something like this. This is a wonderful thing that has happened in my community. We remained greatful. And  I assure him of 90 percent votes from Isiagu community.”

In their separate interviews, Hon. Chika Nwoye, Evangelist Chinelu Okoli and Pa Alexander Okeke, said that Hon. Okoye, has proven that leadership could not be adjudged by age. They recounted how the lawmaker has been facilitating empowerment training and programmes for youths and women in the Constituency.

They both promised to intensify campaign for his re-election bid.
