The people of Enugwu village-Adazi-Enu community in Aniocha local government area of Anambra State have lamented the poor state of a 3 kilometers road that connected the town from Awka-Nnewi highway, called on the State Governor, Chukwuma Charles Soludo to take adequate measures to address the issue before they are cut off from the state completely.

They noted that, although the State Government is trying in road construction across the 179 communities in the state but much attention need to be given to rural roads particularly, the Akweze-Adazi-Enu-Nokwa road which they said have become a nightmare for the people and rural traders using it.

Speaking with Journalists, during the 2026 Enugwu-village day/award giving celebration held at the village’ hall compound, on Saturday, the Chairman of the village, Barrister Jideofor Okongwu, appeal to governor Soludo to urgently intervened before the raining season, noting that the road trespasses three local government areas in the state (Aniocha, Aguata and Idemili South), respectively.

According to him, we are not saying governor Soludo is not working, he has perform beyond Ndi-Anambra expectations in all sectors, including road construction and security but what we are passionately appealing at the moment, is for him (the governor), to help us construct the only road that link to the Enugwu village-Adazi-Enu. The poor state of the road has stalled farming and business activities in the area. We urgently want the governor to come to our aide before the rain commences.

“Businesses and other social engagements have been paralyzed in my Enugwu-village, owning to the bad nature of the road in the area.

“Thousands of residents of the area who live and conduct their daily activities along this axis are enduring significant hardship as a result of bad road.

“While Governor Soludo, has made commendable strides in infrastructural development under his “Solution Administrative agenda, it is also essential that more visible efforts be directed toward rehabilitating more rural roads across the State including the contested Akweze-Adazi-Enu-Nokwa road, Okongwu appeal further.
