As the All Progressives Congress APC scheduled to conduct its primary election on Wednesday July 16th, 2025, ahead of the Anambra South Senatorial District bye election, the party’s media community has warned against the imposition of candidate on the party .
This is coming as the body announces it’s endorsement of Chief Azuka Okwuosa as it’s candidate demanding for a free fair and transparent primary election for him to emerge.
It was gathered that the primary election would be between Dr Obinna Uzor and Chief Emeka Okwuosa as the only two aspirants contesting for the party’s ticket.

In a statement by the leader of APC Media Community in Anambra State, Dr Valentine Iyke Oliobi, said the party cannot afford to make the mistakes of the past that caused it the victory in the time past noting that Azuka Okwuosa has been a loyal party member who stood still throughout the tooting stages of the party from Action Congress to Action Congress of Nigeria ACN and now the Action Congress of Nigeria ACN.
“For the sake of refreshing our memories, Sir Azuka Okwuosa is a foundation member of our party from AC to ACN to APC”
“If this man does not deserve the ticket, then who does? Shall we continue to pour new wine into old wineskins? Shall we continue to reward strangers while faithful Sons eat crumbs from the Dinning Table? God forbid!”
“We call on the leadership of our party that this is the time to stand on the side of history because we can bet that this time, the eyes of the grassroots are open, and listening with rapt attention, and watching to see whether loyalty will be rewarded or is betrayal the only path to the top? “
” If the party turns a blind eye again, let no one say they were not warned”he noted .
Oliobi explained that it is not a threat against the party but a candid advise to the party.
“We say this not in rebellion, but in truth; APC Anambra State will split at the seams if injustice is forced again and this will deter our much cherished quest to build cohesion and forge consensus.
Going forward, we will like to reiterate that Anambra State APC Media Community will not fold their arms while loyal men are pushed aside. We will not sacrifice silence for peace that leads to collapse”
“The era of “Party Supremacy” without “party fairness” is gone. The grass will no longer suffer while the elephants fight”, Oliobi concluded.
