Anambra Bishops beg Tinubu to release Nnamdi Kanu

The Pentecostal Bishops Association, Anambra State (PBAAS), has appeal to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to release the Leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, from prison to douse the uprising in the South East region of the country.

The Bishops’ appealed was contained in a Communique signed and issue to journalists at the end of her 2026 Annual Convocation, held at Church in Power International Awka, on Thursday, by her executive President, Bishop Prince A.A Nwodika.

According to Nwodika, the continued stayed of Nnamdi Kanu in prison is escalating agitations in the South East region.

“We are passionately pleading with President Tinubu to use his good office to release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu unconditionally and also to correct the imbalances in the polity, which has aggravated agitations from the region, in the spirit of equity, fairness and socio-economic balance in the system.

“These measures will significantly improve the much needed peace and security in the South East region.

The Bishops while congratulating governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo in his reelection victory for a second term in office, pray to God to bestowed Nigeria political leaders with wisdom to lead and develop a passion for the populace.

They also encouraged Churches to remain a shining light and be strong in faith in Christ to enable them overcome the challenges currently facing Christianity in the World.
