The National Chairman of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Victor Ike Oye, has won in his polling unit in Ebeakpu ward, polling unit 003 in Amawbia, Awka South Local Government Area of the State, amidst large voter turnout.
His party polled 166 votes to defeat People Democratic Party (PDP), that scored seventy four votes.
Labour Party (LP) came a distant third in the unit with twenty eight vote, All Progressive Congress (APC), zero votes while Young Progressive Party (YPP), step down for APGA before the exercise commences.
The polling unit had a total number of 280 accredited voters for the election. The unit had a total of 1,250 registered voters.

The APGA national chairman, expressed confidence in his party’s victory shortly after voting in his polling unit alongside the State Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Comrade Celestine Anere, who also won in his polling unit 006 Eke-Amawbia market square in the council area, for APGA with the score of 76 votes, LP 19 votes and PDP 17 votes.
Speaking to Journalists, shortly after the announcement by the INEC polling unit officials, Oye described his ward as orderly and violence free since 23years ago.
He said he had never been enchanted with Nigeria, regardless of its shortcomings.
He said, “The voting started on time with large turnout and has been peaceful. The people are so excited and jubilant because they’re expecting a new crop leaders.
“Our people are nice people. Since 1979, I started voting here, there has never been any violence. This is the largest around here. We have three polling units in this ward.
“I went through due process, accredited without stress. I casted my vote secretly.
“I’m always impressed with Nigeria, I’ve never been enchanted with the country. Whatever happens, I’m committed to the progress and development of the country.
On his part, the Regent of Amawbia community, Ozo Arc. Emeka Maduka, commended INEC, the State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, the security agents and his people for making the electoral process a huge success in the area.
