One of the most established players of the Tekken scene, RB|Anakin, has recently released an ease-of-use tier list for Tekken 8. The game has been available for over a month now, so Anakin now feels confident enough to talk about which characters are ideal for beginners.
Despite being the first character that players are greeted by when booting up the game, Kazuya Mishima is actually seen as being “pretty hard” to pick up and play. Needless to say, Tekken really strays from how almost every other fighting game has their most iconic fighter as being a good jumping off point for newcomers to their respective series.
However, it would seem that Kazuya Mishima isn’t the most difficult in the game. Steve, Zafina, and Yoshimitsu are at the very bottom due to having the most extreme learning curves in the game.
Instead of these combatants, new players will likely want to play characters like Dragonuv, King, Azucena, Feng, and Victor. Not only are they easy to pick up, but they’re generally perceived to be strong in the current meta as well.
Of course, there are a few fighters that are believed to be very strong that are still difficult to play, according to Anakin. Examples of these characters are Ling Xiaoyu and Devil Jin.
