The Senate Members
Representing Cross River State
At the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria

Sirs/Madam,

THE NEED TO ISSUE AN OFFICIAL PUBLIC STATEMENT ON THE MISSING 2016 BUDGET OF CHANGE

On the 22nd of December 2015, President Muhammad Buhari presented his N6.08 trillion (2016) Budget of Change to a joint session of the National Assembly(NASS) of the which you are able members.

On 12th January 2016, there was the information making the rounds, as published in online/offline news media outlets, that the 2016 budget proposal, as presented by His Excellency President Buhari was missing. Later in the day, Channels TV was reported to saying that the hitherto missing budget had been found.

It is on the strength of these allegations and counter allegations that I thought it worthwhile that your Distinguished offices should issue official statements to the effect of notifying your sundry Constituents in the three Senatorial districts of Cross River State south, central and north on the true state of things as it borders on the then-missing – but-no-longer-missing budget.

It is my candid opinion that this gesture on your part, will attempt to quell the already incited ripple in the body-politic of your constituencies. Secondly, it will send a message of responsibility on your part. Thirdly, it will suggest that you are active, but not passive, members of the 8th National Assembly.

I look forward to hearing from you as there could be no authoritative a position on the phenomenon except from your offices.

Do receive the assurances of my best wishes.
