The clean and greener streets of Calabar are now been known to be dustbin even to mentioning of the public.
I was taking a stroll across the streets of Calabar last weekend when I bask into a bin full areas along Amika Utuk Street, Goldie by Calabar Road (Watt Market), Mary Slessor by Etim Edem Park and many other main streets. It’s so disgusting and disappointing that the new phase of governments do little about cleaning and maintaining the streets are the state is meant to be. No wonder why people still talks about the Donald Duke administration as being one of the best of all times.
As good as the new administration is going, as in the government of Prof Ben Ayade, it’ll be good for the parastatals in position of waste management (CUDA, OUDA, IODA, etc) to put more efforts to make the state a better cleaner place since the Governor had assured them of good and in time salaries.
