The time has almost finally arrived, as we’ve reached the launch week of Tekken 8 and a new era of 3D fighting games is truly upon us all with hype levels continuing to rise.
If you’re still not sure where to you’d like to pick up the game, Amazon has a special Launch Edition of Tekken 8 that comes with a somewhat odd extra bonus over other retailers.
Those who pre-order the game from the online store will receive an apparently exclusive controller skin with a design based on Jin Kazama’s new black and white striped jacket in the game.
This only applies to the PlayStation 5 version and the DualSense controller, however, so Xbox Series X|S buyers won’t get it also.
The controller skin appears to be some sort of decal applied over the face and grips of the DualSense along with what looks to be red buttons.
We can’t really say what the quality is like, though, or what it looks like on the pad since there seems to be no images of it on the actual controller.

The Tekken 8 Amazon Launch Edition also comes with the Paul Phoenix avatar costume for everyone who pre-orders as well as the Mokujin and Tetsujin skins for PS5 owners as well as a potentially slightly different box cover.
This promotion is for the United States, so availability may differ in other regions. Launch Editions are often times still carried by retailers past release / pre-orders, but we can’t guarantee that here.
It only seems to apply for the base game as well, so if you’re trying to get the Collector’s, Deluxe or Ultimate Editions, you’re probably best off looking elsewhere.
Amazon and other retailers are also now carrying Tekken 8-themed controllers with the Hori Fighting Stick Alpha for PlayStation for $230 and PC as well as the Hori Fighting Commander for PC for $60.
Tekken 8 is scheduled to finally release on January 26 for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam.
Be on the lookout for our big Tekken 8 review coming very soon.
