The Cross River State Commissioner for Quality Education,Hon. Godwin Amanke has commissioned some completed projects at the Margaret Ekpo International Secondary School and Women Vocational Training Centre,Calabar.
Hon. Amake also lauded the Parent Teacher’s Association(PTA) of the School and the School Management for the achievements so far recorded.
The Commissioner for Quality Education,who graced the occasion together with the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mrs Aniedi Ekpeyoung and the Director of Quality Assurance, Dr. Mrs Ugbaja said multi-purpose PTA building, borehole facility and the launching of the 8th edition of ‘’Amazing Grace’’ magazine,were distinctive projects of the School,adding that this is worthy of emulaton by other schools and their PTAs.
He described the Amazing Grace magazine as an imformative,educative and entertaining annual publication of the school and urged the Management of the School to sustain it in the years ahead.
Dr. Amanke expressed satisfaction at the quality of work done in the storey buliding which comprises a four classroom block, a multi-purpose hall and a borehole for steady water supply in the school,noting that this will greatly advance the delivery of teaching and learning in the school.
The Quality Education Commissioner urged the Principal, staff and students to maintain the facilities in order to satisfy the needs of the people
Earlier, the Principal of the School, Lady Alderton Ewa appreciated the Commissioner and his team for honouring their invitation,adding ‘’we strongly believe that these facilities will foster a congenial atmosphere for effective teaching and learning in the school’’.
The students of the school thrilled their guest to parades, cultural dances and sports competitions.
