Manchester United have opened an investigation to identify the source of team news leaks.
The investigation has opened after details of their starting XI for Sunday’s dramatic derby win over Manchester City surfaced the night before.
The lineup was posted by journalist Samuel Luckhurst on Facebook and surprisingly proved to be the exact eleven put out by Ruben Amorim.
The new boss has reportedly questioned derby hero Amad Diallo and dropped winger Alejandro Garnacho about their potential involvement in the investigation leak.
Garnacho’s brother, Roberto, was accused on social media of being one of the sources, though he has since publicly denied the claim.
Team leaks have occurred before when Garnacho was left out, but Amorim appears satisfied that neither Garnacho nor Amad are directly responsible for the investigation leak.
Speaking after the 3-2 win at the Etihad, Amorim expressed his frustration: “I know that story. I think it is impossible to fix. You have a lot of people in the club, the players talk with agents – it is not a good thing.”
The Portuguese, known for his strict discipline, demonstrated his no-nonsense approach by dropping Garnacho and Marcus Rashford from the matchday squad for poor training performances.

It remains interesting to see whether the team leak sage continues to persist at the club amidst the ongoing investigation.
Shutting down the source of the leak will certainly come as a relief to Amorim who will be hoping for the noise outside the club to quieten down.
Amorim has already proved he will not stand for players stepping out of line.
Garnacho is however, expected to come back into the fold for Red Devil’s next match against Tottenham Hotspur midweek.
United currently sit five points behind fifth place City and a further point away from the Champions League spots.
