Allyvem takes on daring poses during Cammy White cosplay

Allyvem has quite the history as a cosplayer on her Instagram page. Among the characters that she’s cosplayed as, Cammy White from the Street Fighter series is present.

Considering how Cammy is typically donning a thong leotard, it requires a certain degree of boldness for someone to want to cosplay as Cammy. Indeed, Allyvem takes on some rather daring poses while portraying Cammy.

It’s said that Cammy’s preference for the thong leotard stems from the optimal speed, mobility, and flexibility that this type of outfit allows. Needless to say, Cammy tends to be one of the speedier characters that players can use throughout the Street Fighter series.

Of course, it should be noted that Cammy has seemingly retained her speedy attributes in Street Fighter 6 despite getting a wardrobe change just like every other veteran present in that game. This makes us wonder if Cammy actually has an ulterior motivation for wearing the thong leotard.

Regardless, it would appear that Allyvem was specifically inspired by how Cammy appears in Street Fighter 5 which is slightly different compared to her Street Fighter 2 and Street Fighter 4 appearances. It’s actually rather simple to spot the differences between these variations of Cammy.

In Street Fighter 5, Cammy no longer has camouflage paint markings decorated on her legs. Instead, a shoulder harness is wrapped to her green leotard while a gun holster is tied around her right thigh.

One of the earlier drafts for Cammy’s character actually incorporated this shoulder harness and gun holster. Though this concept for Cammy was scrapped in favor for a look that didn’t incorporate these elements, it’s certainly interesting how Street Fighter 5 brought back the harness and holster.

Despite having a gun holster, Cammy has never actually been seen drawing her weapon. In terms of her gameplay, she’s a close combat specialist with no access to any projectiles.

Cammy actually made her debut appearance in Super Street Fighter 2: The New Challengers back when it appeared in the arcades back in September 1993. She was one of the aforementioned new challengers alongside T. Hawk, Dee Jay, and Fei Long.

It would seem that Cammy ended up being the most popular among these new challengers as she’s the only one that has appeared all throughout Street Fighter 4, Street Fighter 5, and Street Fighter 6. This is pretty funny considering that Cammy was often regarded as being one of the weakest combatants throughout her appearances in Street Fighter 2.
