Allegations Against Fubara Aimed At Removing Him From Office, Claims Wike’s Former Aide

A former aide to former Governor Nyesom Wike, Opunabo Inko Taria, has alleged that the recent accusations made by former Head of Service, Dr. George Nwaeke, against suspended Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, are part of a larger plot to permanently remove the governor from office.

In an interview, Mr. Inko-Taria stated that the intention behind the allegations is to indict Governor Fubara and ultimately remove him from office.

He also questioned the authenticity of the script read by Dr. Nwaeke, wondering why the former Head of Service would implicate himself in the process.

Inko-Taria, however, advised Governor Fubara to continue preaching peace amidst the ongoing crisis.

However, public affairs commentator Dr. Kennedy Allen-Nwakoama has dismissed the notion that the allegations could lead to Governor Fubara’s arrest.

Dr. Allen-Nwakoama pointed out that the governor still enjoys immunity, and instead advised him to avoid those who seek to ethnicize the political crisis.
