Alex Valle takes on Master ranked players with his famous Ryu in Street Fighter 6

Ryu really struggled to be relevant in Street Fighter 5’s meta beyond Season 1. Comparing Ryu’s options to everyone else’s, Ryu felt greatly overshadowed by strictly better characters.

Though Ryu does rank low on tier lists for this first season of Street Fighter 6, it does seem like the developers did try to give him better tools this time around. He’s still pretty weak overall, but it feels like he has more of a fighting chance now.

WNF|Alex Valle, a player so invested in the Street Fighter scene that he was often referred to as “Mr. Street Fighter,” has apparently been putting in some work with Ryu in Street Fighter 6. YogaFlame24 recently uploaded gameplay footage featuring Alex Valle’s Ryu.

Of the players within the Master rank using Classic Controls, Ryu is currently the worst performing. However, you probably wouldn’t know this by just seeing Alex Valle playing Ryu against other Master ranked players.

Very often in each match, opponents find themselves cornered against Valle. From here, he’s then able to keep opponents guessing with a series of throws or a combo leading to big damage.
