Manchester United could see their deal with Napoli for Alejandro Garnacho fall through as the Italian club begins looking elsewhere.
The Serie A leaders have been pursuing Garnacho as their top choice for the left wing.
Manager Antonio Conte is a keen fan of the 20-year-old, seeing him as a strong asset to support Napoli in their campaign to lift the Serie A title.
The youngster had standout season last time out, being a key part of Erik ten Hag’s starting squad, even winning the Puskas Award for 2024 and earning a Golden Boy nomination.
However, with Ruben Amorim now at the helm, Garnacho has been demoted to the bench, used more as an impact substitute.
In the hope of getting more time on the pitch, Garnacho has verbally agreed to a move to Italy. However, the financial deal between the clubs is stalling the move.
Napoli have already submitted an initial bid of £42 million for the Argentine, which was rejected by United who are holding out for around £75 million.

Napoli find alternate option to Alejandro Garnacho in Germany
Fabrizio Romano has now confirmed that Napoli are now looking to other options, finding a potential back-up option in Germany.
Napoli is reportedly turning to Borussia Dortmund to scope out a potential move for Karim Adeyemi this January.
Adeyemi has unfortunately had to miss some of the season due to a torn muscle. However despite the injury, he’s still recorded five goals and five assists in 13 matches.
Contact has been made with the German giants according to the report, however, Napoli are yet to turn their back on a deal for Garnacho.
Garnacho remains the Italian club’s primary target, however if a deal isn’t agreed soon with United, The Red Devils could miss out all together.
