The rough start Manchester United have faced under Ruben Amorim, has underlined the scale of the challenge he faces in turning the club’s fortunes around.
The new INEOS-led sporting structure will be responsible for equipping Amorim with the resources needed to improve United’s underperforming squad.
Only a select few players from the first team are considered safe.
Major departures are expected at United under the new regime.
Alejandro Garnacho had grown to be seen as a huge part of United’s long-term plans.
However, there seems a chance that the Argentinian is going to leave the club, with Chelsea and Napoli seriously interested.

Garnacho is more likely to leave Manchester United than Marcus Rashford this window.
Chelsea and Napoli are both seriously interested in pursuing the Argentinian attacker.
Garnacho’s representatives attended Stamford Bridge on Monday night for discussions.
Napoli will hold further talks with United on Tuesday after Antonio Conte spoke with the winger.
Chris Wheeler of Daily Mail reports that United are demanding £75 million for Garnacho.
Chelsea are also interested in Mainoo, but United value him even higher than Garnacho.
Sources confirm interest in both players but warn deals may be difficult to complete this window.

Whether Chelsea feel the £75 million tag is worthy for Garnacho, remains to be seen.
The London club have not yet submitted a formal bid, although interest is at a serious level.
It would shock many people, outside of just the United fanbase if Garnacho does join Chelsea.
Napoli would certainly pose as the more appropriate destination, if he is to leave.
Should Garnacho depart, then United fans will expect a top class winger to come into the door as replacement.
United haven’t done much business this window, but things are starting to liven up.
