This gesture is a follow-up to an interactive session she held alongside Prince Ukpong Akpabio, Honourable Commissioner for Investment, Commerce, and Industry, and Idorenyin Raphael, Special Assistant to Governor Emmanuel on Trade and Market Matters, Wednesday with traders and market leaders regarding the price hike in food and essential commodities, across the state.

At the parley, Dr Edet said that the Governor Udom Emmanuel-led administration is committed to making life easy and meaningful for the people, hence the Governor’s commendable efforts towards making the state food sufficient.

She said the Government has been touched by the plight of the populace brought about by the slight increment in the price of Garri and other food commodities and has swung into action to ameliorate the unsavoury situation.

She advised traders and market leaders to support the efforts of the government to bring succour to the people by allowing dealers of food items to bring in their products at will, especially Garri, which is one of the most consumed commodities in the state.
