Actually, Calabar Reporters had confirmed rumours recently that Legislatures from Akpabuyo and Bakassi Local Government Areas of Cross River State have been holding their excos meetings in Calabar due to fears of militancy in the areas.
But the Cross River State Commissioner of Police, Jimoh Ozi-Obeh in an interview with Channels Television has debunked the rumours that the Militant Group have taken over Akpabuyo and Bakassi Local Government Areas of the state.
According to him, “the information is false and called on residents to go about their lawful activities without fear as all security operatives are up and doing to ensure the safety of lives and property.”
He clearly stated that, the state is calm and free of militant activities.
