CALABAR – Hon. Peter Akpanke, the federal lawmaker representing Bekwarra/Obudu/Obanliku Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, has initiated a Free Medical Support Scheme for his constituents residing in the three Local Government Areas.
During the weekend, coinciding with Akpanke’s birthday celebration, the scheme was inaugurated. It aims to provide medical assistance and essential food items to constituents undergoing treatment, particularly focusing on indigent women and children within the constituency.
Mr. Friday Awade, the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the legislator, reported that the scheme received a widespread commendation. Beneficiaries from various LGAs expressed their heartfelt appreciation through prayers and good wishes, showering the Hon. Member with gratitude.
Hon. Peter Akpanke, expressing his gratitude for the continuous support and kind wishes from his constituents, emphasized that the welfare of his people remains his primary duty. He vowed to uphold it with the help of God’s grace, promising to celebrate his birthday annually alongside those he represents.
Joining him in the celebration were Hon. Philip Agbese, the Member Representing Ado/Ogbadibo/Okpokwu Federal Constituency of Benue State, Hon. Adida Agabi, the State Auditor of the People Democratic Party, Cross River Chapter, his Campaign DG, Hon. Charles Eneji, and numerous other stakeholders, including religious, political, and opinion leaders from Bekwarra/Obudu/Obanliku Federal Constituency.
