Alongside Musa, Super Eagles right-back Shehu Abdullahi also returns to Kano Pillars, having previously played for the club in 2012.
Abdullahi was a key member of the Nigerian team that clinched the bronze medal at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
Despite the NPFL transfer window being closed, Kano Pillars will register Musa and Abdullahi as free agents.
This move is expected to bolster the team’s chances of success in the 2024/25 season.
The 2013 AFCON winner has consistently shown his dedication to the sport, and this move demonstrates his willingness to give back to the league where he began his journey.
“I’m excited to return to Kano Pillars, where it all started for me,” Musa said. “I’m looking forward to contributing to the team’s success and helping to develop young talent.”
Musa’s arrival is expected to boost Kano Pillars’ attacking options, which have been lacking in recent matches.
His experience and goal-scoring ability will undoubtedly enhance the team’s chances of securing vital wins.
“Ahmed Musa’s return is a massive boost for us,” Kano Pillars coach, Ibrahim Musa, said. “His presence will inspire the team and bring much-needed confidence.”
Musa’s experience and expertise will undoubtedly benefit younger players and inspire a new generation of footballers.
Kano Pillars face Sunshine Stars in their next NPFL match on Sunday. With Musa and Abdullahi on board, the team will look to secure a crucial win and move up the league standings.
