Yesterday it was reported that Nigeria's apex court, the Supreme Court of Justice struck out two motions filed in by the Joe Agi SAN, a gubernatorial aspirant in the 2015 general elections in Cross River State on the basis that it lacked common sense, merely speculative, baseless and unmeritorious.
The Supreme Court entertained and found merit in the motion filed in by Gov Ben Ayade's Counsel Chief Whole Olanipkekun SAN who was accompanied by Mr Paul Erokoro SAN, the former Counsel to the state governor.
The Supreme Court will take the motion by Ayade's lead counsel, which centres more on the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court on the 23 June 2017.
Unarguably, this decision by the apex court is a major setback for Joe Agi.
