The Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has approved the appointment of the state’s former deputy governor, Prince Adesuyi Haastrup as the new Owa Obokun of Ijesaland.
The state’s Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, disclosed this in a statement on Friday in Osogbo.
He said the appointment was approved during the State Executive Council meeting in Osogbo.
Alimi said the governor also approved the appointment of Prince Johnson Abikoye as the new Asaoni of Ora Igbomina during the meeting.

Haastrup served as deputy governor during the late Isiaka Adeleke’s administration in Osun State in 1993.
He will succeed Oba Adekunle Aromolaran who died on September 12.
“The processes of their selections are in line with the Chiefs’ law of Osun State 2002 (cap 25).
“All sons and daughters of the two towns are enjoined to cooperate with their new traditional rulers and allow peace and unity to take centre stage,” Alimi stated.
