We’re still trying to process all the details that the recent Season 2 patch has brought to Street Fighter 6, but Capcom has rolled out a few additions to the major update.
In an X post from early Friday morning developers indicated that two fairly frustrating issues have been affecting players since the patch dropped, and fixes are now in place for both so as to ensure the Street Fighter 6 experience runs as smoothly as possible.
Those who have been exploring the game’s single player World Tour Mode (likely to unlock Akuma as a Master) may have encountered sudden crashes while attempting to take on a particular non player character.
The second issue takes place in the multiplayer arena as players who have achieved Master Rank (MR) are sometimes being matched up with others who are drastically different in rank.
This is not only frustrating to the lower ranked player as they’re likely going to be quickly overpowered while playing someone vastly higher in skill, but also to the higher ranked player as they stand to gain almost nothing in the way of additional MR points while risking a maximal amount should they wind up losing.
Here’s what Capcom had to say on the matters:
“We’ve updated #StreetFighter6 to ver. 1.0500.002, which fixes these issues:
– World Tour: a crash which could occur when battling an NPC
– Fighting Ground: an issue which could cause players with vastly different MRs to be matched together under certain conditions
Please note that the feature whereby the search parameters are widened when matching is taking time is still in place, so this matchmaking fix does not guarantee a small MR gap for every match.”
