Mai Shiranui is set to join Street Fighter 6 on February 5, 2025. As the second Fatal Fury guest character, she’s bringing with her a completely unique playstyle to Street Fighter 6.
LegacyOfKaiser recently released footage we haven’t seen yet that showcases what Mai can do in the JP, Terry Bogard, and Chun-Li match ups. During these three videos, all characters are controlled by the CPU set to the level 7 difficulty settings.
Early into the match against Terry Bogard, we’re reminded that Mai’s fans won’t be all that effective in fireball wars. Despite Terry spending no meter on his Power Wave projectile, it ended up going straight through Mai’s fan projectile.
On the other hand, these fans can be used to create some pretty gnarly frame trap situations. Under the right conditions, these fans will bounce off the opponent’s guard and then return for a second strike.
However, Mai seemingly is at her most dangerous after using her level 1 super art. Once this condition is fulfilled, she’ll gain access to five flame stocks that can be spent to enhance her attacks until the end of the round.
In the video against Chun-Li Mai can also be seen wearing a turquoise-colored version of her default costume. Evidently, this is one of the colors players can select when playing as Mai.
