We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to manage financial operations within our manufacturing and warehousing facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing financial transactions, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing financial insights to support decision-making processes. This role requires a strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory management, procurement and logistics, financial reporting/financial management, tax and tax management and audit/internal control within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting principles (IAS) and company policies.
Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
Prepare and analyze financial statements, balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow reports.
Maintains financial security by setting up & managing internal controls.
Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely invoicing and payments.
Prepares payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements.
Conduct cost accounting and inventory valuation to support pricing strategies and financial planning.
Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.
Complies with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
Monitor and reconcile inventory accounts, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions.
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning to support strategic decision-making.
Coordinate with external auditors and tax authorities for audits and financial reporting.
Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud.
Utilize accounting software and ERP systems to streamline financial operations.
Tax management and control
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 2-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or warehousing.
Strong knowledge of cost accounting, financial reporting, and inventory management.
Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (QuickBooks)
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Certifications – ACA, ACCA and added advantage.
