The Abia State Government has approved the recruitment of 4,500 teachers in the state. This was made known in a release by the Commissioner for Education, Hon. Goodluck Ubochi, on Saturday.
The release showed a breakdown of the recruitment into 2,500 teachers for senior secondary schools, and 2,000 teachers will be recruited for junior secondary and primary schools.
“This is a bold step by Governor Alex Otti to revamp the education sector in Abia State. By recruiting 4,500 teachers, we are not only tackling unemployment but also improving the standard of teaching and learning in our schools. The future of our children is a priority,” Ubochi said.
Interested applicants are advised to submit their applications to the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Ministry of Education, Umuahia, through the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Umuahia.
The release added that the application process was ongoing and an advertisement for vacancies would be published by the Ministry of Education in the coming week.
