Last weekend was arguably the best time of Blanka’s 33-year career ever considering he helped Bandits|MenaRD secure his crown at Evo Japan 2024 for Street Fighter 6, but that’s not all.
Evo Japan’s cosplay contest was a stacked competition as well judging by the talent we saw at the event previously, and a perfect Blanka walked away with the grand prize for it too for good reason.
Josui managed to capture the attention of Evo attendees even before the cosplay competition since he very much stood out in the massive crowd.
Blanka is quite possibly the rarest Street Fighter cosplay out there for a main world warrior because not many people are willing to go the extra mile of painting themselves green to be a Brazilian beast man.

Josui went absolutely in for the electric fighter’s SF6 design, however, by not only going green, but giving himself fangs, a gravity-defying wig, actual green claws, chains on his ankles and orange fur on his arms, shins and chest.
And of course he had to carry around a Blanka-chan doll too.
Players like Bandits|MenaRD himself, Chocoblanka, Nishikin and many others had to stop and get photos with him.

Yes, he did wear a green body suit with separate hand and feet parts that might have been made for the Hulk or something, but Josui still did a good job of blending it all together and making it into an accurate, cohesive costume.
Other cosplayers and attendees noted it wasn’t just his outfit that was praise-worthy with his performance as Blanka selling the whole deal and likely sealing his victory.

Josui’s poses, mannerisms and dancing around fully captured the spirit of Blanka, and he looked like he had a blast the whole time.
This wasn’t his first Street Fighter cosplay either with Josui posting that he wants to bring back his Akuma and M. Bison too, which looks pretty powerful.

For his victory, it seems like they’ll be sending his talents over to the main Evo 2024 in Las Vegas, Nevada this Summer along with some extra merch.
But for now, Josui’s Blanka is currently invading Comic-Con Osaka.
