A closer look at the killer Mortal Kombat 1 Kollector's Edition Liu Kang statue

Mortal Kombat 1 is the next major fighting game from NetherRealm Studios, and it will be here sooner than you think. Here in the latest generation of video games and hardware, the cast of the long-running fighting game franchise is seeing a fresh start, and they look better than ever before.

Hardcore fans who want to get the biggest and best version of Mortal Kombat 1 can opt to purchase the Kollector’s Edition, which comes with an incredible statue of Fire God Liu Kang. Just the other day, series co-creator Ed Boon shared a closer look at the upcoming figure.

In Mortal Kombat 1, Fire God Liu Kang serves as the face of the game, as well as seemingly the center of everything going on. This new Mortal Kombat timeline sees the god sculpting a fresh world in his vision, and many of the familiar faces we know and love are seeing new roles and story lines.

As such, Liu Kang was given the honor of being included in the Kollector’s Edition as a beautifully detailed statue.

This 16.5-inch Liu Kang sculpture was designed by COARSE, who is also known for putting together the awesome Mortal Kombat X Kollector’s Edition Scorpion statue. In this new preview, we get to see it from different angles, as well as an adult hand next to it for scale’s sake.

The Fire God Liu Kang statue is predominantly white, black, and gray, which makes the accented red headband and belt pop that much more. This powerful fighter stands with his hands together in front of him and slightly bowing his head as two dragons surround him.

Those who want this statue and the Mortal Kombat 1 Kollector’s Edition will have to shell out a pretty penny for it. It will run you $249.99 USD, and it will only be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Also included in this edition is the Mortal Kombat 1 game (obviously), the Kombat Pack, early access to the game beginning Sept. 14, a Liu Kang in-game character skin, three exclusive art prints, a steel case, and 1,450 additional Dragon Krystals (2,700 total). The Kombat Pack will feature a Johnny Cage character skin with the likeness of famed actor and martial artist, Jean-Claude Van Damme (available at launch), early access to six new playable characters (available post-launch), and five new Kameo Fighters (available post-launch).

Mortal Kombat 1 is set for release on September 19, 2023. It will be available on PlayStation 5 (no PlayStation 4), Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
