Guilty Gear Strive is going strong into its third season, and another new fighter is about to drop for the game.
During the latest ARC Live broadcast today, Arc System Works announced that A.B.A will be the third DLC character coming to Strive Season 3.
A.B.A is set to release next Tuesday, March 26, as part of Season Pass 3 alongside the Fallen Prayer, Engulfed Lives stage and a new move for Millia Rage.
The developers describe at the beginning of rounds that she’ll be slower and weaker, but she can enter a Jealous Rage state that makes her much faster and more aggressive.
She’s ditched her red hair, but Paracelsus is still by her side with the homunculus swinging around her key axe husband for most of her moves.
In their buffed state, Paracelsus’ head turns black and looks like its melting while the blade on the axe also changes to appear much more like a dangerous weapon.
Series Creator Daisuke Ishiwatari says in her time away from the spotlight of the series, A.B.A has managed to find some joy out in the world and come to enjoy things like makeup and fashion, which helps explain some of her design changes for Strive.
The developers note that BlazBlue Director Toshimichi Mori, who is no longer at ArcSys, is not voicing Paracelsus this time around with Akira Kamiya taking over the role in Japanese. You may recognize that name as the voice actor of Kenshiro in Fist of the North Star, Ryo Saeba in City Hunter, and many other roles spanning more than 50 years.
They also said that Paracelsus’ visual changes will be explained in the Arcade Mode as well as other story details for the odd couple.
As was previously announced, the new character will be playable at the ARC World Tour 2023 Finals starting tomorrow, Thursday, March 21, ahead of their upcoming release.
