It’s a bit disappointing to say as much, but it really does feel as though there’s a new bug or glitch to highlight in Mortal Kombat 1 just about every week. This latest phenomenon has been showcased by X-Azeez on Twitter.
Under unknown circumstances, a character is sometimes able to move before the start of a new round. In the clip posted by X-Azeez, we can clearly see how Raiden is able to move even before the timer and health bars are reset from the previous round.
Reportedly, the Reiko player in the clip, X-Azeez himself, was unable to move during this sequence. As such, the Raiden player was granted an advantage of sort as the round began as he was able to dash forward unimpeded.
According to comments that responded to this scene, it’s actually possible to hit the opponent before they’re even given the opportunity to block. This can even result in an unblockable combo starter that can surely have an impact on a match’s outcome.
It’s not exactly known how to replicate this situation, but it appears to be something that can happen while playing online. One commenter suggested that it might actually be tied to which Kameos are in play, which wouldn’t be that outlandish considering how Tremor’s frame data changes based on the point character controlling him.
Check it all out in the clip below:
i knew about this since week 1, and i’m curious to know if anyone else have experienced something similar to this where “You” or “The opponent” can move BEFORE the round starts. pic.twitter.com/xpTvlewbnU
