It was announced earlier this week that Joshua Zirkzee could leave Manchester United on loan in January.

The Dutch striker has only scored one goal for the Red Devils since joining in the summer.

Rasmus Hojlund has picked up form after returning from injury last month.

However, in his time at United, he has not exactly taken the Premier League by storm, with 11 goals in 34 appearances.

Therefore, United are looking to add to their attacking depth with a young star striker in the Premier League.

The club are fighting Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur to sign Liam Delap from Ipswich Town, according to CaughtOffside.

It is believed that Spurs are currently leading the race to secure the 21-year-old’s signature, but United are Arsenal remain interested.

With four goals in eight Premier League games this season, Delap has already caught the eyes of the league’s best sides.

The England Under-21 international is valued at €40million by Ipswich, almost triple Transfermarkt’s €15m valuation of him.

His hefty price tag could be due to the fact that his contract expires in 2029, meaning Ipswich have strong negotiating power over a potential transfer.

Liam Delap began his career at Derby County’s academy before joining Manchester City’s youth setup in 2020.

He was a signed to City for four years, but had loan spells at Stoke City, Preston North End and Hull City during his time there, before joining Ipswich in the summer.

He is the son of Rory Delap, famous for his iconic long throw-ins at Stoke.

The striker will hope to emulate his father’s successful 19-year long career and could start life at the top of football with United.
