Golden State Warriors star, Moses Moody has signed a three-year new contract in a deal worth $39m.
Moody is in the final year of a rookie contract he signed after being drafted with the No. 14 pick in 2021.
He has enjoyed an improved role in the team during this year’s training camp and is expected to play more regularly for the Warriors this upcoming campaign.
Last season, Moody averaged eight points in 17.5 minutes in 66 games played, setting career highs in scoring, playing time, rebounds, steals and blocks.
He also averaged 15.5 points in 20 minutes through the preseason, including three starts. He shot 45.6% from the floor and 39.4 per cent from 3 on 5.5 attempts.
Golden State Warriors coach, Steve Kerr has been impressed with Moody’s performance in preseason and also confirmed that he is set for a big role in the upcoming season.
He said: “He’s playing great, He’s gotten so much better in so many ways. We’ve always loved his character, his work ethic. This is the most confidence he’s played with.
“But so are a lot of other guys, We’re sitting in that coaches room every day saying: ‘How are we going to play all these guys?’ Because they all deserve to play. I’ve asked all of them to play their hardest, making it difficult for us.”
Golden State Warriors will open their campaign against Trail Blazers on Thursday at Moda Center.
