But now we can
There’s much that can be said about the state of Street Fighter 5 over the years, but one thing you can’t really complain about was varied stages and details put into them.
Combo maestro Desk recently stepped outside the box of his usual content to show off the interesting and obscure details found in Street Fighter 5’s locations.
Things kick off in the Underground Arena where there’s actually a room in the back that features a bunch of extra seating and tables across two floors though the more intriguing part is the outside of the building is actually fully modeled too with even more buildings in the distance as well as a skybox.
Yet we only typically see just a small bit of that on one of the stage KO animations.
If you ever wondered where the staircase in the Flamenco Tavern led, well, it just leads to a brick wall though there is an extra side room that has two floating beers left in just out of view.
The Rival Riverside stage is especially surprising with the amount of work put into it considering there’s multiple lanes of traffic with fully modeled cars on not just the bridge but surrounding streets too plus a multitude of buildings too.
While it is neat to see the added details to objects and locations that aren’t typically visible, there’s also the interesting aspects of production where developers something close to illusions to save time and resources.
Having extended rooms and details make sense for set pieces that could be used in the cinematic story mode, but it’s interesting to see that carried on to the end of SF5’s content too.
