Inflation falls below Bank of England’s 2% target for first time in three years

UK inflation fell to 1.7% in the year to September, the lowest rate since April 2021.

It marks the first time inflation has fallen below the 2% target for three years. The 1.7% figure for September is the lowest since April 2021 when it came in at 1.5%.

It’s a drop from August’s 2.2%.
