Though it was believed that he was dead after the events of Tekken 7, Heihachi is set to return as Tekken 8’s third DLC fighter. Earlier today, Heihachi’s gameplay trailer was unveiled.
During this trailer, we also learned that Heihachi Mishima is set to be released worldwide on October 3, 2024. However, those with the Playable Character Year 1 Pass will gain access to Heihachi early on September 30, 2024.
Of course, Heihachi will be featured prominently in the upcoming Tekken 8 story expansion, Unforgotten Echoes. Despite continuously being thought of as deceased, it would seem that Heihachi still has a major role to play within the story.
As one might expect, most of the Tekken roster aren’t too thrilled about Heihachi’s return due to his antagonistic nature throughout the series. Still, it will be interesting to see how he will interact with his daughter, Reina, for the first time on screen.
In terms of his gameplay, many of Heihachi’s most iconic moves are returning for Tekken 8. This includes his Electric Wind God Fist, which has been a staple move for members of the Mishima bloodline.
Of course, Heihachi’s recent lava bath hasn’t changed much in terms of Heihachi’s ruthless nature, but he does appear to bear a few more scars on his body now. Evidently, he now has a bone to pick with his son, Kazuya Mishima.
