NetherRealm Studios is currently preparing for the big launch of Mortal Kombat 1’s first major expansion. Late next month, fans will be treated to the release of Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns, an update to the game that adds new cinematic story chapters, new fighters, new finishers, and more into the fold.
Among the new characters set to join Khaos Reigns as DLC is the freshly designed Sektor, who we’ve seen small glimpses of so far. Today, the folks behind MK1 have released two new teaser clips that show off Sektor’s pre-fight intros against Cyrax, as well as reveal that we’ll be seeing Sektor’s gameplay and apparently story trailer next week.
“She’s bringing the heat. Get your first look at Sektor’s story and gameplay in #MK1 next Wednesday, September 4,” wrote the official Mortal Kombat 1 Twitter page.
Mortal Kombat series co-creator Ed Boon shared one of the new teasers, which gives us a fresh look at one of Sektor’s pre-fight clashes with fellow former cyborg Cyrax.
“The armor’s just the first step, isn’t it?” Cyrax asks. “You will find out in time,” Sektor replies.
After the clash, we see Cyrax chuck one of her grenades at Sektor, to which Sektor blocks with a big shield as the explosion pushes her backward. Sektor then uses her rockets to stop her momentum and fly forward before landing and firing flame throwers at the ground in front of her.
The official Mortal Kombat Twitter page shared another teaser clip that shows a second pre-fight clash between the two new fighters.
The next trailer for Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns is set to reveal Sektor’s new gameplay, as well as some of her story elements. You’ll want to mark your calendars for next Wednesday so that you don’t miss it.

Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns is slated for release on September 24. The new expansion will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
