Just yesterday, we learned that Terry Bogard is set to join the Street Fighter 6 roster on September 24. Needless to say, everyone will need to update their game then for the sake of compatibility.
Earlier this year, Street Fighter 6 Director Takayuki Nakayama declared that the developers are planning for multiple, smaller balance patches this season, which would generally be a change of pace compared to Season 1. Due to this, fans present at Gamescom 2024, where Terry is available to be previewed, have been on the lookout for any notable changes.
It didn’t take long for Tanovan (Joe Higashi) to report on the removal of throw loops in Street Fighter 6. This seemed to get fans excited considering that this particular Tweet had over 1.9 million views at the time of writing this.

Supposedly, Tanovan was able to confirm that throw loops were no longer a valid option for Ryu, Ken, M. Bison, and Cammy. Since Terry also reportedly did not have a throw loop, it was beginning to seem like throw loops were universally removed.
Ken ryu vega 柔道不可 no throwloop

However, Tanovan would later correct this information by stating that throw loops were still intact after all. This problem was the result of difficulties playing with pad controllers at Gamescom 2024.
Sorry throw loops works it was hard on pad

Just to reiterate once more, throw loops are confirmed to still be in Street Fighter 6 as of the Terry Bogard update. Like them or not, they’re still currently in the game.
With the rug thoroughly pulled out from under the community, this prompted a new discussion about how many fans really want throw loops to be removed from Street Fighter 6.
I just hope @CapcomFighters notice HOW HAPPY EVERYONE WAS with the idea of throw loops out of this Game and remove it for a Better game https://t.co/zOjoDFzcRn

Of course, it should be mentioned that the removal of throw loops could revive the meta of “take the throw” from Street Fighter 5 considering the damage output that many characters can dish out. Be sure to chime in and let us know your thoughts in the comments section.
