With just one change since Friday’s filing deadline, candidates are set for local offices up for election in November.
The city of Chico and town of Paradise extended their deadlines for council filings to Wednesday after an incumbent each opted not to seek another term. That netted no new challengers, though Paradise removed a candidate who’d submitted his intention to run but not the additional forms required.
Municipal clerks certify council candidates, while the Butte County Elections Office records candidates for school boards and special districts. For a full list of the latter, visit buttevotes.net and find the Nov. 5 general election page.
