Manchester United, like all English Premier League sides, have to submit their first team squads to the league before the new season.

Not only do they do that, but they also upload their squad and each players profile onto the official MUFC website.

When players come in or go out of the club, the site is typically updated to reflect that.

Leny Yoro and Joshua Zirkzee were added soon after they joined the club.

Donny van de Beek was removed when he joined Girona.

But one player remained on the website long after he departed the club.

Sofyan Amrabat, who was on loan from Fiorentina last season, had remained on the MUFC website squad list despite no longer being affiliated with the club.

With the hierarchy deciding not to trigger the option to make his transfer permanent, Amrabat returned back to the Serie A side.

Yet, his face and name were still present on the website.

This was despite the page being updated after the captures of Yoro and Zirkzee.

Many fans felt this may be a hint that the club intended to go back in for the player.

Sofyan Amrabat has been one of the players linked with a permanent transfer to Old Trafford this season as the club look to bring in midfield reinforcements.

However, it seems that the change has now been actioned.

Having added Matthijs de Ligt, who will take over the number 4 shirt previously worn by Amrabat, and Noussair Mazroui to the site, Sofyan Amrabat has been removed from the first team page.

That means it took the club 46 days to remove him from the site after his loan finished.

Better late than never, as they say.

Attention will now turn to which player United decide to enter the transfer market for.

As for Sofyan Amrabat, it seems that the door has firmly been shut on his time at Manchester United.
