Kylian Mbappe was on target for Real Madrid to lead them to a 2-0 win over Atalanta in the Uefa Super Cup clash at the National Stadium in Warsaw, Poland.

The French superstar was handed a start in his debut for Real Madrid after joining the club in the summer as a free agent.

He played as a striker and was ably supported on the flanks by Vinicius Junior and Rodrigo as the trio gave Atalanta caused problems all night.

The former PSG had his effort blocked in the first half as Rodrigo hit the crossbar, and Atalanta failed to trouble Courtois in goal for Real Madrid to end the first half goalless.

Vinicius provided a sublime assist for Valverde to give Real Madrid the lead with a tap in just before the hour mark to break Atalanta’s resistance.

Nine minutes later, Jude Bellingham assisted Julian Mbappe, who produced a thumping finish for his first Real Madrid goal, and ultimately his first Real Madrid trophy.
