Justin Wong explores which infinites and glitches got removed in Marvel vs. Capcom 2 from the upcoming Fighting Collection

The Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics was playable at Evo 2024 via these incredible arcade cabinets. This gave Justin Wong the opportunity to check out the collection, though it should be noted that only X-Men: Children of the Atom, X-Men vs. Street Fighter, and Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes were available at the time.

During his latest video, Justin Wong explored what’s changed with Marvel vs. Capcom 2 since its arcade release. As it turns out, there are a number of infinite combos and glitches that no longer work.

Early into the video, Justin Wong showcases how characters like Storm and Cyclops are no longer able to perform their aerial infinite combos against cornered opponents. This is due to how the opponent is now more reliably spiked to the ground at the end of these specific combo strings.

Of course, it’s interesting to note that not all infinites have been removed from this version of Marvel vs. Capcom 2. For example, it’s still possible to perform a number of infinites so long as the opponent remains standing.

It’s also noted that the Shoto airborne infinites are also still functioning. On average, Marvel characters tend to be a little stronger than Capcom combatants in this game. While this might even the odds a little bit, X-Men characters are likely still better overall.

Justin Wong then showcases how the Juggernaut powerup glitch has been removed. The character can no longer keep the powerup effect by tagging Juggernaut out immediately after activating the effect.
