Mortal Kombat 1 and its player base just can not catch a break. The gory fighter underwent its latest update on Tuesday that brought in new DLC character Takeda, the previously delayed Ferra Kameo and a handful of balance changes and bug fixes. It also seems to have brought new issues to Xbox consoles.
We first caught wind of this thanks to the peculiar visual from a post from iScream on X (embedded below) as they shared footage of two T-posing combatants hovering about the screen. A deeper dive into Warner Bros. Games MK1 bug report page yields some 60 reports of Xbox users experiencing crashes when they try to go online.
Mortal Kombat 1 is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC via Steam, and Nintendo Switch, but all the aforementioned reports claim issues are happening specifically on the Microsoft console.
Some note intermittent issues while others state that they have consistently not been able to access any of the game’s online modes since Tuesday’s update. The thread is marked as “investigation in progress” so it does appear that developers are aware and are presumably working on fixes.
Here’s the footage from iScream sharing footage of T-pose issues. The user claims to have multiple other MK1 players reaching out to them to express similar problems:
Some users on X Box are experiencing bugs & crashes with the new update. @tylerlansdown @WBGamesSupport
There are a wave of people asking for help in my DM’s. So thought I’d make you aware.

Fingers crossed that NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. Games are able to rectify these issues soon. We’d like to ask our audience here if you’ve experienced any such issues, specifically on Xbox consoles, since the latest update.
