This week Manchester United have announced a list of seven players they are looking to offload this summer.
The announcement comes as part of Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s attempt to return United to the top of European football. Whilst this is the first transfer window of Ratcliffe’s reign at United, the INEOS owner has suggested that the full squad rebuild could take up to three years.
This summer the Premier League side are looking to part ways with veteran midfielder Christian Eriksen.
Eriksen has previously commented on a move away from Old Trafford, stating very clearly that he had no interest in a move to Saudi Arabia.
Eriksen draws interest from former club
Now, reports from Sam C on X claim that Eriksen’s former club Ajax want to see the Danish international back in their squad.
The Dutch side are reportedly looking primarily at a loan for the midfielder. However, United’s plan ultimately is to sell the star.
With this in mind United are looking to convert the deal to a loan with obligation to buy, or to a permanent transfer.
It’s unknown if Ajax will go for this, with the club needing to make sales themselves before any new permanent transfer could be made.
