Opp head softball coach David McVay honored by AHSAA

The Alabama High School Athletic Association recognized 116 state championship coaches from 2023-2024 at its annual Championship Coaches and Awards Banquet in Montgomery on Thursday, July 18.
Opp High School Head Softball Coach David McVay led the Lady Bobcats to their first state title in school history with a 4-2 win over Plainview in the Class 3A championship on Friday, May 17.
Opp won its last 11 games of the season and finished the year with a 43-6-1 record.
