About the Role:
- The Business Support Coach will play a crucial role in supporting entrepreneurs sourced directly from the market who meet the specific eligibility criteria for the Business Support Accelerator.
- These entrepreneurs are distinguished by their operation of a registered business that is less than five years old, offering a product or service with proven market viability (minimum MVP) and demonstrating at least six months of revenue generation.
- Additionally, they must be fully committed to their business full-time and available for the entire duration of the program.
- The coach will guide these entrepreneurs through intensive development stages, leveraging their refined business ideas and models to help them effectively utilise a $5,000 grant to scale their business initiatives.
- The coach will be instrumental in guiding these entrepreneurs through a structured 12-week program aimed at achieving key outcomes in market alignment, customer traction, and operational understanding.
Key Responsibilities:
Month 1: Business Deep-Dive and Analysis
- Support the entrepreneur to conduct a comprehensive review of their business’s customer engagement, product viability, and business strategies
- Participate in bootcamps, workshops, webinars, and 1:1 coaching sessions
- Support entrepreneurs to identify critical success factors and develop actionable pathways for entrepreneurs
Month 2: Strategy Development and Execution
- Support entrepreneurs to identify the best strategies and gain clarity over actionable steps needed to unlock their business growth
- Support entrepreneurs to execute strategies to address identified gaps and enhance the skills of the founders and their teams
- Support founders to be accountable in implementing effective and targeted business strategies addressing their identified needs
Month 3: Growth and Scaling Strategy Implementation
- Guide the development and execution of growth and scaling strategies
- Support the entrepreneur to strengthen their business’s fundamentals to prepare for scaling
- Support entrepreneurs to develop and execute strategies that lead to sustainable revenue growth and reduced costs
- Support entrepreneurs to foster broader social impact by enhancing market value and creating more jobs
Engagement Framework:
The Business Support Coach will engage in a series of structured activities designed to unlock business growth. The engagement required is approximately 12 – 13 hrs in a week excluding the bootcamp duration that requires full-time engagement. The framework below outlines the interactions and expected outcomes across different engagement types starting 5 August 2024:
- Onboarding:
- Orientation to program goals and methodologies
- Duration: 1 week
- Selection Support:
- Assist in selecting entrepreneurs for each new cohort
- Duration: 1 week
- Pre-Bootcamp Launch Preparation
- Assist in co-creating a detailed bootcamp agenda and recognising roles and responsibilities for some facilitation at the bootcamp
- Assisting in reviewing slides and presentations for the bootcamp
- Bootcamp Launch:
- Participate in the boot camp, training and engagements with entrepreneurs
- Help facilitate, co-create the program and design of the bootcamp
- Duration: 1 week. (Full-time engagement required for the 1 week duration ie 17th September – 20th September)
- Monthly Workshops:
- Attend and facilitate sessions during the monthly in-person workshops to dive deep into key business topics
- Weekly Coaching:
- Provide personalised guidance in weekly one-on-one sessions
- Collaborate closely with entrepreneurs during virtual working sessions,providing targeted guidance to overcome strategic challenges
- Weekly Team Meetings:
- Participate in team meetings to discuss progress and strategies
- Office Hours:
- Offer weekly open hours for spontaneous queries and support
Reporting:
- Monthly Reports: Summarize key activities and outcomes
- Weekly Updates: Provide insights into ongoing progress
- Program Conclusion Report: Deliver comprehensive assessment at the program’s end
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred
- At least 5 years of experience in business development consulting or a similar role, specifically supporting startups or SMEs in product development, growth strategies, financial and operational management & strategic planning
- Strong practical coaching skills with an emphasis on providing industry insights and facilitating working sessions that address specific entrepreneurial needs
- Proven track record in developing and executing go-to-market strategies that have successfully driven customer traction and business growth
- Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and mentoring skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple businesses with diverse groups of entrepreneurs
