Manchester United are not slowing down when it comes to getting players in the door in this summer’s transfer window.
Not only are we seeing the likes of Joshua Zirzkee and Matthijs De Ligt being heavily linked with the club, but we’ve already seen some names come in the Old Trafford doors.
And it’s a big drive on youth recruitment that has been at the forefront of the incomings so far.
Towards the end of May, James Overy was confirmed to have signed with United. Silva Mexes was next in the door as Robert Earnshaw’s son was confirmed as a United manager. And now another player previously linked with the club has signed also.
Camron Mpofu has taken to his Instagram to confirm that he’s officially signed with Manchester United.
Mpofu was previously at Reading and the 15-year-old is now going to be working to make a name for himself at Old Trafford.
The youngster shared a snap of himself holding the iconic number 9 shirt and added some captions to reflect his feelings.
“I’m proud to officially announce my signing for Manchester United.
“I’d like to thank everyone who has helped me on this journey so far, especially my family, the coaches and staff at Reading FC.
“The hard work continues.”
One of the comments on the post was from his father, who told his son that he was beyond proud of him.
Mpofu has been highly rated, but has some big shoes to fill if he wants to make the senior first team number 9 shirt his own. The likes of Mark Hughes, Eric Cantona, Andy Cole and Zlatan Ibrahimovic have all adorned the number 9 shirt on their backs at Old Trafford and Mpofu will have had quite the career if he was to emulate any of those names.
Congratulations Camron and here’s to seeing you make a big name for yourself at United.
