The world of Pokemon is truly gigantic. With monsters inspired by real life, it’s hardly a surprise we even have cat Pokemon in the game. In its history of over nine generations of games, this world of monsters has a lot of cat Pokemon. All Cat Pokemon in Order
All cat Pokemon in the series have been divided across nine generations of games. Here are all the cat Pokemon listed in generational order:
Gen 1 (Red, Blue, Green, Yellow)

Gen 1 games only featured two Feline Pokemon – Meowth and Persian. Interestingly enough, both Pokemon have existed in the Team Rocket team in anime. Some people might debate the inclusion of Growlith on this list. However, he is inspired by a Tiger, a cat sub-species.

For the second generation of games, we had to include Eevee. It is a normal-type Pokemon that once again looks a lot like a feline in many ways. While some might argue about this choice, Eevee Evolutions are directly inspired by cats.

All cat Pokemon in Gen 3 include an ambitious mix. While a Zangoose is a bipedal mix between a Mongoose and a Cat, the other two are directly inspired by cats. I love Decatty because of how cute it looks.

In the Pokemon Gen 4 games, Shinx and its evolved form, Luxio and Luxray, are a direct inspiration from cats. Glameow is possibly the third Pokemon in this list that looks visually similar to a cat in real life.

The gen seven of Pokemon games features the highest number of monsters that look like cats. Two of these Pokemon in this game include the Alolan version of an existing Pokemon. Outside of this, the seventh generation of Pokemon features one of the famous fire Pokemon in-game.

One of the latest generations of Pokemon Games only includes four Pokemon that look distinctly similar to cats.
How Many Cat Pokemon Are There in Total?
Now that we have divided all cat Pokemon it’s time to tally them up. Throughout the nine different generations, there are a total of 36 Cat Pokemon.
However, this includes the first Red, Blue, and Green games and the latest Scarlet and Violet. If you’ve watched the old Pokemon anime, you’ll recognize the Team Rocket-speaking cat Meowth and Giovanni’s pet cat Persian.
Both of these Pokemon are very distinct and have left a lasting impression on my mind. Some other prominent Pokemon from this sub-genre include the fire Pokemon Inceneroar from Pokemon Sun and Moon. This fellow has even appeared in the famous Super Smash Bros Ultimate, making him well-known.
